With over 20 years in the world of birth and as a Blossom antenatal facilitator, i can walk you through your birth preferences, explore a tool kit of positions and relaxation techniques for birth, work together to find ways your birth partner can best support you during labour, or help you to prepare for a healing birth after a previous birth experience. We can also create a postnatal plan, so that you feel confident with how best to practically and emotionally get the support you need in the early postnatal period.

I have supported many, many home births as a Doula, had 2 of my 3 babies at home and have run the Bath Home birth group for over 12 years. I love nothing more than supporting you and helping you to plan, prepare and get excited about welcoming your baby into the world in your own home.

We can look at ideas on how to set up your space, comfort measures, using water, and the practicalities of birthing at home. if you are choosing to be cared for by our Hummingbird community team, i have a wonderful, collaborative relationship with them and there is also the chance to borrow one of my Birth pools and become part of the local Home birth support group and whatsapp.

This is a celebration of your pregnancy, similar to a baby shower, but with a real focus on celebrating you and wrapping you in a blanket of love and positivity as you prepare for birth and parenthood

Sometimes this can take the form of a playful session with grandparents, partners or older siblings, reading stories, painting bellies and decorating birth affirmations, or sometimes it is a chance for a wider circle of friends and family to gather and truly celebrate the you with story/song/relaxation/laughter and creativity.

Mother blessing sessions would be curated with much thought and personalisation. They can be as lighthearted or as holistic and spiritual as you wish. Can include siblings and are fully inclusive of all different spiritual beliefs. Examples of things we can do will be given to help you make decisions and all materials included.

During my one off, nurturing postnatal visits you would have my time, my energy, my care and my wisdom. I would bring a meal for you, or prepare you food, snacks or drinks at home and we would spend time together checking in with how you are doing in this early postnatal period. Perhaps you or you partner would like an opportunity to debrief your birth experience, or get some gentle breastfeeding support. We are often awash with questions and emotions at this time and I love to be a true listening ear for families, and someone who can signpost you to local resources in the Bath and Wiltshire areas. As a mother who has mothered without my own mother, I have a particular passion for supporting anyone with whom that resonates, or anyone who is yearning to be nurtured themselves. I have walked that challenging path and i am here to hold your hand if you are walking it too.
